This pizza style was developed in Detroit, Michigan. It has a thick, airy crust that is crispy on the bottom and edges. Unlike our other hand tossed styles, this one is cooked in a metal pan. These pizzas are built in reverse, instead of the typical, “sauce, cheese, toppings” order, in Detroit the cheese and toppings go on first and the sauce is added, piping hot, at the end.
